THE UK BASE OF FACSIMILE MACHINES DOUBLED IN 1987

The UK base of facsimile machines more than doubled in 1987, to 173,000 units, from 86,000 in 1986 according to the latest figures from the British Facsimile Industry Consultative Committee, the UK fax trade association: total sales for 1987 amounted to 96,000 almost double the 1986 figure and the Committee is forecasting 1988 sales at 150,000 unit; the UK Fax Book issued by British Telecom carries twice as many entries as last year although not all fax machines are listed as many companies prefer to have one or two numbers published.
