AEG AG’s Modular Computer Systems, ModComp, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida says that reports in Computer Systems News of a new range of real-time super minicomputers to replace the company’s current Classic range are premature, and that it will not discuss details until the official launch at the Autofact show in November: the report says that the new machines will be called the Tri-Dimensional 9000 family, and will feature a new processor – the 98010 from VLSI Technology Inc – and a new architecture, but will run a derivative of the company’s MAX IV operating system, and Unix.
