THE SWEDISH EMPLOYERS ASSOCIATION

They do a lot of things differently in Sweden, and there, companies have clubbed together to create a Swedish Employers Association that inter alia operates a fund on behalf of its members, making payouts when they are hit by strike action: L M Ericsson Telephone Co in Richardson, Texas, says it will receive $32m in compensation from the fund in connection with a strike in Sweden earlier this year; the cash will be included in the current quarter’s figures, but covers only part of the cost of the disruption.
