THE SPAM DEBATE CONTINUES

Use of the word Spam in the internet world has sparked the debate: is it an acronym? Arguments rage, both in the meat industry and on the Internet newsgroups. The original word may or may not have been derived from a contraction of spiced ham, or maybe even stood for Specially Processed Army Meat or (unappetizingly) Super Pink Artificial Meat. In its Internet use, some have argued it derives from Specious Postings Across Multiple…er, newsgroups.
