THE PC IS EFFECTIVELY DEAD IN IBM’S CATALOGUE

Only two months after launch of the Personal System/2, the Personal Computer is effectively dead already in IBM’s catalogue: the company has announced in the US that it has stopped taking orders for anything apart from the AT Model 339 and the XT/286 – and it also still has a few XTs with 20Mb disks left that people can have on a first-come first-served basis.
