THE MEMORY CHIP CRISIS SEEMS TO BE OVER

The memory chip crisis seems to be over – official: not only are contract prices for 1Ms in Tokyo stabilising at $15 in quantity, but some manufacturers are beginning to offer discounts of up to 10%, a firm sign that the market has gone decisively off the boil; however Newsbytes Japan reports that on the spot market, you still have to pay $38 a shot in the Akihabara electronic bazaar in Tokyo.
