The US$230 ESP Marvel G450 eTV gives users the power to do it all, from watching timeshifted TV on the PC to uploading streaming video on the Web. In addition to timeshifting and Web video, the Marvel G450 eTV rounds off its all-in-one suite with stereo TV tuning, MPEG2 video capture and playback, S-video and composite input/output, high-quality DVD playback, hardware acceleration for 2D/3D applications, and Matrox’s revolutionary DualHead(R) display technology.

Multi-media functions

More and more people are using camcorders to record weddings, summer vacations, babies’ first steps, and other momentous events. Now users can transform home video footage into Oscar-winning masterpieces by adding titles, transitions, voice-overs, music, and other effects. And with the added value of DualHead, they do not have to wait until they have completed their editing to see how it looks on the big screen. A monitor paired with a TV speeds up the editing process as users can preview applied changes immediately full-screen on a TV and continue editing on their primary display. The bundled Ulead(R) VideoStudio(TM) 4.0 Marvel G450 eTV edition software is a video capture and editing solution that can be used for uploading Web video onto a personal homepage in a video streaming format such as Quick Time, or developing promotional videos for an online business. After created, video projects can be saved onto a videotape or CD for convenient distribution.

The Marvel G450 eTV’s excellent image quality along with its next-generation DualHead feature, DVD Max, enhance DVD viewing by giving users the opportunity to output crystal-clear DVDs full-screen to a TV. The DVD screen on their computer can then be minimized leaving the desktop free.

The Evolution of DualHead

Launched in 1999, DualHead technology supported eight different display configurations and consisted of five modes: Clone, DVDMax, Multi-Display, TV Output, and Zoom. A year later, second-generation DualHead expanded on these features with the addition of Matrox MultiDesk, Snapshot, Multi-Zoom and DVD playback on a monitor-an alternative to the original secondary output to TV. Now, with third-generation DualHead, Matrox dual display technology evolves even further to include true multi-display support in Windows(R) 2000, improved usability features, such as access to all modes without rebooting, and the eDualHead(TM) browser-enhancement suite designed to power e-business and the Web.
