THE LORD GELLER-LORD EINSTEIN AFFAIR

By CBR Staff Writer

The Lord Geller-Lord Einstein affair has all the hallmarks of an LA Law of the advertising business (though what US television network would dare to bite the hand that feeds by running a no holds-barred drama series about ad agencies?) and in the latest twist, IBM has decided that while its most of its advertising will remain with Lord, Geller, Federico, Einstein Inc, it will give US personal computer advertising on a project-by-project basis to the defectors who quit to form Lord, Einstein, O’Neill & Co; (for trivia buffs, Lord Geller is owned by WPP Group Plc of London, and WPP stands for Wire & Plastic Products because the company originally made those plastic-covered wire baskets used by supermarkets).
