The Indonesian state telephone company Perumtel, has awarded three contracts to Alcatel NV and one to a Nynex Corp-led consortium to extend its telephone network: the project is being funded by the World Bank and involves installing 400,000 fibre optic phone lines; Perumtel has divided the project into four equal parts, and each contract is worth between $60m and $80m; completion is set for 1995.
