The IBM-Sears Roebuck & Co Prodigy Systems Corp viewdata venture has decided to pay the Texas Attorney General’s office $12,500 and refund money to Texas subscribers that may have been misled by its ads rather than fight in the courts a charge that it misled Texas subscribers by mailing them ads saying that electronic mail on the service was free when at the same time it was addinga charge of 25 cents a message for each one in excess of 30 a month.
