THE CASE OF THE TRW DOG

The US taxpayer suffers endlessly at the hands of docile Pentagon officials who meekly pay up for the most outrageous extravagances billed by military suppliers, and after the $250 pair of pliers and the $1,000 lavatory seat comes the TRW dog: to the credit of TRW Corp, the company actually withdrew the bill after conducting its own review of overhead charges – Uncle Sam was being asked to further the nation’s defence by meeting the cost of boarding a TRW executive’s dog.
