THE BRITISH MPT 1327 MAY BE ADOPTED BY THE THE DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST

With France Telecom almost certain to adopt the British MPT 1327 standard signalling protocol for mobile radio communications, there are signs that the Deutsche Bundespost may well follow suit; the adoption could have significant implications for the UK private mobile industry and Band Three Radio’s Andrew Robb predicts that, trans-European roaming advantages aside, joint research and development programmes would lower the cost of equipment manufacturing and put Europeans in a competitive position for Far East sales of equipment.
