TEXAS INSTRUMENTS JAPAN PLANS NEW PRODUCTION LINE FOR 16M-BIT DYNAMIC RAMs

Texas Instruments Japan is laying the groundwork for the next generation but one of memory chips, drawning up plans for a production line for 16M-bit dynamic RAMs at its Miura plant in Ibaraki prefecture: the parts are currently in development in Dallas, Texas, and in the meantime, Texas Japan is expanding its clean room at the plant to prepare for volume production of a 4M bit memory chip, enabling it to turn out 40,000 parts a month.
