TEXAS INSTRUMENTS AND THE KGB

By CBR Staff Writer

Next witness… Call the KGB: the former head of Romania’s secret police, who defected the other day, came up with the titbit that he was ordered by that nice Mr Brezhnev – he of the Denis Healey eyebrows and the expensive cars – to steal semi-conductor designs from Texas Instruments in 1978, and according to Electronic News claims to have succeeded in his mission by surreptitiously photographing diagrams hanging on an office wall while pretending to straighten his tie; Texas reportedly doesn’t believe the story and won’t be naming the KGB as a defendent in its copyright infringement suit against the Japs.
