TEXAS INSTRUMENTS ADDS 100MHz TI 486DX4 AT $70

Texas Instruments Inc seldom gets a mention with iAPX-86 cloners are the subject of discussion, but the company is still in there pitching and yesterday launched the 100MHz 486DX4 at just $70. The company reckons it exceeds the minimum power needed to run Windows 95 by 250%. Texas says it is particularly aiming the new processor at emerging markets such as the People’s Republic of China, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
