Tandem Computers Inc signed up with Texas Instruments Inc for joint development and worldwide marketing of the Texas Information Engineering Facility software engineering environment on Tandem NonStop systems. The original version, for IBM mainframe environments, is sold in Europe by James Martin Associates. Users of the Tandem version will be able to develop and run transaction processing applications in an open environment, independent of a specific computer and operating system.The Facility products for NonStop will be released in two stages, the first requiring IBM’s OS/2 and MVS, available next year, the second for OS/2 and NonStop following in 1992.
