The hospital, which is currently in the midst of an enormous $1.5 billion expansion, will use Provisioning Manager to create and manage user accounts throughout their life cycle.

Provisioning Manager will speed up the process for adding new Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange accounts, as well as accounts for accessing the Epic electronic medical record system and PeopleSoft applications. It will also keep track of each transaction whenever application access is granted, modified, suspended or removed, as well as details of all privileges granted.

With this system we will have an accurate and up to date electronic trail of exactly who has access to which applications, said Jason Roos, manager of network services and data security at Texas Children’s Hospital. We will also be able to easily and quickly create accounts as well as rapidly suspend or terminate accounts for people who should no longer have access.

In addition to these capabilities, Sentillion was selected because of its modular product suite. This allowed Texas Children’s Hospital to start with single sign-on and single patient selection and add provisioning and other capabilities at a later point in time.

The hospital was also impressed by Sentillion’s understanding of user provisioning for clinical applications.
