The agreement builds upon a 15-year relationship between the two companies and will see Xansa offer services that will aim to improve Tesco’s productivity in order to drive down the cost of the retailer’s core IT operations. It is hoped this will allow Tesco to focus on enhancing and extending its retail services and improving the overall shopping experience for its customers.
Xansa said it will continue to provide a portfolio of services through its integrated delivery channels in the UK and in India. These include application management, software development and program and project management for some of Tesco’s IT systems, which cover distribution, stock replenishment, products and pricing.
Xansa will also support the UK and Republic of Ireland payroll systems and provide general sales information.
