Teradata to provide data warehousing software to Indian insurer

Teradata, a division of Dayton, Ohio-based NCR, has said it will offer data warehousing technology to India's Life Insurance Corporation.

By CBR Staff Writer

According to the agreement, the 60-terabyte Corporate Active Data Warehouse (CADW) will be used to support the insurance company’s business volumes including a reported 160 million insurance policies.

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) hopes the Warehouse will enable it to understand customers’ usage profiles and policies in order to customize and manage the firm’s insurance products.

Amrish Rau, general manager of Teradata in India, commented: The implementation of Teradata’s data warehouse will boost LIC’s competitive edge and help increase the company’s prospective customer base.
