Teradata Corp, Los Angeles has added a Microsoft Windows Call Level Interface access application for its DBC/1012 back-end parallel relational database system. The interface enables programs running under Microsoft Windows to interact directly with the DBC/1012 database computer, so that Windows applications such as Microsoft Excel can issue an SQL query directly from Excel macros to search the database, and return the answer set directly into a spreadsheet for local manipulation and analysis. Application programmers can generate end-user tools using Windows products that end users can access without being familiar with the DBC/1012 or SQL – and Windows users can connect to an external database capable of supporting up to 1Tb of data. No prices or delivery data were given.
