TENDERS INVITED FOR THE PAN-PACIFIC FIBRE OPTIC CABLE

Cable & Wireless Plc, Pacific Telecom and International Digital Communications have invited tenders from five companies for the 5,000-mile pan-Pacific fibre optic cable: the contract is worth $400m to $500m and the five invited to make bids are STC Plc, AT&T Co, Submarcom SA, Fujitsu Ltd and NEC Corp.
