Tenable expands EMEA team

Network security company says it is poised to capitalise on European demand.

By Joe Curtis

Network security firm Tenable has trebled its EMEA team to drive an expansion in the region.

The vulnerability management company’s expansion is being lead by David Cummins, the new VP for EMEA, who will target a reported increasing demand for real-time detection of security risks and breaches as companies contend with the BYOD trend.

Tenable, which recently opened a German office, is putting more focus on its Europe business, which is responsible for 25% of its income.

Cummins said: "The past year has been phenomenal for us. The European market has become increasingly aware of the value of its data and is acting to secure it.

"While periodic active vulnerability scanning was perceived as enough to provide assessment of the threats facing organisations, this is no longer sufficient with the increasing use of laptops & BYOD.

"As a natural evolution, passive scanning allows continuous and real-time monitoring, enabling businesses to act quickly."

Tenable hopes its product range will be able to address local market demands, with its flagship Nessus products having been downloaded 10m times with more than 20,000 customers worldwide.
