Telstra has announced vendor agreements as part of its IT transformation plan which includes an analysis of both IT contracts and systems.
Based on its IT transformation plan analysis, the company consolidated the work in two areas within IT, AD&M,and infrastructure build, management, and support.
The company has awarded application development and maintenance (AD&M) services contract worth $450m to EDS and Infosys for over five years and revealed that IBM would remain a strategic partner in it. The company said that by working with fewer vendors, it will streamline its IT processes.
It has also informed that IBM has received a renewed IT Operations Services Agreement (ITOPSA) worth about $745m , under which it would manage Telstra’s infrastructure for 5 years. The agreement with IBM would cover data centre mainframe operations, a proportion of midrange operations and maintenance. Telestra expects that the ITOPSA contract will help it to execute various projects across its IT infrastructure.
John McInerney, CIO and GMD Information Technology of Telstra, said: These consolidated contracts contribute to our strategy and ensure an ongoing investment with our key partners.
