The London-based Hinduja Group Ltd is holding talks with Australia’s Telstra Corp for setting up a cable telephone venture in Bombay, the Press Trust of India quoted the group’s president as saying: he said nothing has been finalized but they discussed Telstra taking part in cable television networking in India where IndusInd Media & Communications, the Hindujas route into India’s growing cable television market, is; the company has already laid down a fiber optic cable network connecting nearly 2m homes in Bombay; Hinduja said that the discussions would continue with Telstra but it is also keen to work with the media tycoon Kerry Packer.
