As part of the agreement GTSI has selected Telkonet’s PLC system as a part of its portfolio of IT solution offerings. GTSI will also be a preferred tier 1 government solutions provider of Telkonet’s AES 256-bit encrypted, powerline networking system to US Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, State and Local Government and education markets. It will focus on secure, high-speed data applications, public safety programs, contingency planning/disaster recovery projects, and security-related communications.
Telkonet’s system uses PLC technology and aims to enable a fast and secure transmission of data, voice and video over existing electrical wires within buildings, ships and similar facilities.
The company’s proprietary solutions utilizes secure networking applications including emergency response, mobile computing and public safety, and these are currently deployed at various Navy facilities, Army Corps of Engineers installations and within the theatre in Iraq.
