Telewest Communications Plc is denying reports in UK newspaper, The Mail on Sunday that it is about to sign a pay-per-movie agreement with Rupert Murdoch’s British Sky Broadcasting, breaking ranks with its cable partners General Cable Plc, NTL Inc and Diamond Cable Ltd. Last week the four companies and their negotiation body On Demand Management struck a deal with Time Warner Inc for a pay-per-view movie service, as part of their entry into content provision.
