TELERATE TO BUY OUT ASSOCIATED PRESS AND DOW JONES

Telerate Inc, New York, has agreement in principle to buy out the two outside shareholders in its AP-Dow Jones/Telerate Co venture that operates outside the US: the two partners are the Associated Press and Dow Jones & Co, each with 24.8%, and AP will get $6.5m cash upfront and $58.5m over 15 years, Dow Jones will get 2.6m new Telerate shares, taking its stake in the financial data firm to 35.4%.
