While Frame Relay was a hot technology at Interop ’91, its presence in Geneva was a little more muted; not that it was not there, just that it was drowned out by all of the other new technologies on show. Telematics International Inc, Fort Lauderdale, Florida obviously couldn’t decide which way to jump because it chose both shows to launch Frame Relay additions to its NET25 software. The code runs on XCP cards sitting in one of the company’s programmable communications processor line. As its first offering the software will be available on PCP S4500 and S5500. The software upgrade prices are $5,000 for the initial licence and $2,000 for subsequent copies. The company says that additional announcements are scheduled for the first quarter of next year, when Frame Relay will be added to its family of DX T1/E1 multiplexors.
