Segin SA, the telematics and value-added networks services subsidiary of software and systems integration house Groupe Axime SA, says the market for telematic services is taking off in France. For the 60-odd telematic services it has set up in the last two years for various companies, Segin recorded over 2m calls in the month of November alone, says a Segin spokeswoman. If the present rate of growth continues, says the company, it will double its revenues between now and June 1993. Segin says it also intends to achieve 35m calls during 1993. The new telematic services it has set up in the last two years include the publishing house Hachette-Fillipacchi for three of its magazines; cable television channel Canal Plus for programming information; publishing Groupe Amaury for its daily journal Le Parisien and sports journal L’Equipe; and the banks Caisses d’Epargne d’Alsace and Caisses d’Epargne de Lorraine Nord, for service information, which receive approximately 2,000 calls per day. Groupe Axime, says the Paris-based French consulting house Pierre Audoin Conseil SA, is France’s third-largest software and systems house. It operates in three areas, primarily data flow management and value-added network services, information processing, and facilities management.
