TELEKOM CLAIMS RECORD GROWTH FOR T-ONLINE

Deutsche Telekom AG says its commercial online service T-Online reached record growth in 1997, totally some 1.7 million new customers. The company said during July and August, subscribers dialed into T-Online over 40 million times per month. The company says the service is soon to offer video streaming and a service that will enable users to download music in CD quality to store on their personal computers or writable CD-ROMs.
