Intel Corp and the Telefunken Electronik GmbH arm of AEC AG have an agreement for the joint design and manufacture of ASIC components customised for Daimler-Benz Group, of which AEG is part. The pair expect that major manufacturing segments of AEG, which include automotive, industrial automation, avionics, system and military applications will extend the use of Intel architecture and products. Intel will transfer ASIC component design and manufacturing technology to Telefunken and grant it licences to use the components internally as a supplier to Daimler-Benz firms, and for its electronic module business.
