VocalTec Communications, a provider of multimedia and voice-over-IP offering for communication service providers, said that Teledata ICT, a Ghana-based licensed ISP, has selected its Class-5 VoIP offering for the delivery of advanced hosted PBX services.

Teldata ICT is deploying VocalTec’s Essentra BAX VoIP Application Server to bring in new IP telephony services, including a set of subscriber calling features such as click-to-dial, attendant console, auto-attendant and others, to their enterprise customers, the company said.

VocalTec claims that delivering VoIP services based on a hosted business model, allows end-users to benefit from the advantages inherent to VoIP while saving on direct investments related to the purchase of the product and its ongoing maintenance.

Gregory EID, MD of Teledata ICT, said: Implementing VocalTec’s IP-Centrex solution allows us to manage and deliver feature-rich communication services. Our customers can quickly and efficiently migrate their telephony services to VoIP while delegating the responsibility of service delivery to our teams. They can start enjoying hassle-free telephony services from day one.”

Ido Gur, president and CEO of VocalTec, said: Essentra BAX is specifically designed for service flexibility and scalability, allowing Teledata ICT to introduce innovative subscriber features that meet their customers’ requirements. We are strategically focused on the African market and are pleased to add Teledata ICT to our family of customers.
