Network General Corp, Menlo Park, California has formed an alliance with Telecommunications Techniques Corp of Germantown, Maryland. As a result of the agreement, the two companies will take part in collaborative product development and technology exchanges. Network General and Telecom Techniques intend to combine their resources in local network fault and performance management and wide-area network testing respectively to target customers in telecommunications service provider and enterprise network environments. Meanwhile Network General has also signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based Frontier Software Development Inc, a provider of SNMP/RMON-based distributed diagnostic products for local and wide area networks. Network General will resell the entire line of Frontier Software products worldwide, and also provide service and support. Frontier’s NETscout family consists of RMON-based intelligent probes and management software for distributed enterprise networks.
