TELECOM EIREANN FACING SERIOUS DEBTS

Telecom Eireann is well on the way to becoming a second Aer Lingus corporate disaster, the former chairman of the Irish state phone company told a business conference: speaking at a Small Firms Association conference in Kinsale, County Cork, Brendan Hynes said the scale of Telecom’s problem could be twice that of the basket case flag carrier, because its debts, at UKP1m, were twice as big, Reuter reports.
