TELECOM AUSTRALIA AND FUJITSU TO JOINT PRODUCE AND SELL PABX

In yet another collaboration, the uxorious Telecom Australia has now teamed up with Fujitsu Ltd for joint production and sales of Fujitsu’s private automatic branch exchanges, beginning this month: a joint venture company, Information Switching Technology, will be formed with capital of $A2.2m, to be 60%-owned by Telecom Australia, 20% each by Fujitsu Australia Ltd and Fujitsu Ltd: a plant will be set up in the Melbourne suburbs in Dandenong, Victoria, to start manufacture of the modified FETEX 3000 and 2000 PABXs, with 50 staff; Fujitsu has been supplying Telecom Australia with telephones OEM since 1986.
