Japanese sales in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries in the July-September quarter totaled 3.82 trillion yen ($30.56bn), according to a survey released by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. The annual survey, which covers 160 major companies, revealed that sales rose 11.1% from a year earlier. Sales growth in broadcasting and telecoms was down from the 13.3% increase reported the prior quarter, but still stronger than in industry as a whole, where sales fell by 1.6%.
