Japan Wireless Corp will be showing a multi-media radio telephony system at Telecom 87 in Geneva next week. The system consists of a digital PABX, a packet switch device, a multi-media radio multiplexer, and a radio transceiver. Digital signals generated by a personal computer are pack-etised and transmitted via the multi-media multiplexer. Up to 15 lines and 128 terminals can be connected, and each multiplexer can hand-le six transceivers. The system has a range of 20 to 30 miles without repeaters, and for greater distances, satellite connections can be used.
