The US-based Fender has been manufacturing guitars, basses, amplifiers and related equipment since 1946. Its instruments include the legendary Telecaster and Stratocaster guitars and Precision and Jazz bass guitars; and other musical instrument brands Charvel, Gretsch, Guild, Jackson, Olympia, Orpheum, SWR, Squier and Tacoma.

Fender also manufactures professional audio equipment, including Passport portable sound system; and accessories, such as strings, authorised replacement parts, cases, straps and clothing.

The company has international facilities in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Japan and Mexico. It delivers IT applications to all its European offices from London. TelecityGroup’s managed service ensures that Fender’s systems run without the risk of downtime. The data centre provides a ‘remote hands’ service for back-up and round-the-clock first line support.

Dave Skorecki, European infrastructure manager at Fender Europe, said: “Fender Europe has grown significantly over the last 10 years, and to support our continued expansion, we needed to reassess our business continuity plans. TelecityGroup have the capacity for us to expand as and when we need to, meaning they can meet all our future requirements.”

TelecityGroup has clients in the media, entertainment and publishing, retail/e-commerce, communications, travel, transport and utilities, finance and professional services and public sectors. Its clients include Virgin Radio, Agalinks, T-Systems, 8el, Ebookers.com, Skyways, Ernst & Young, British Council, Transport for London and more.

Adriaan Oosthoek, managing director of TelecityGroup UK and Ireland, said: “Famous brands such as Fender need to protect their business and increasingly such companies are turning to third parties to help them optimise and maintain critical infrastructure. By relying on our expertise, Fender’s IT team is able to focus on delivering further innovation for its customers.”
