Tele Danmark to Build Own Network in Sweden and Norway

(COMPANY PRESS RELEASE) Tele Danmark has entered into an agreement on the setting up of a 2,100-kilometer fiber optic network in Sweden and Norway.

By CBR Staff Writer

The network will be connected to Tele Danmark’s fiber optic network in Denmark as well as to the new 2,700-kilometer fiber optic network in Germany and will connect more than 10 European metropolitan areas.

The entire North European fiber optic network, which will be of a length of almost 6,000 kilometers, will become part of Tele Danmark’s international infrastructure, TeamNet. The network will be put into service on a continuing basis and will be fully operational by the end of this year.

With the Nordic fiber optic network Tele Danmark sharpens competition in the Nordic Region, offering companies in the region new access to high quality telecom services. The new network will strengthen our position in the Nordic Region considerably, a position that will be exploited both by Tele Danmark’s new Nordic sales organization and our Norwegian and Swedish companies, says President and CEO Henning Dyremose
