The re-structuring will affect 18,000 European employees at Tele Danmark. The formal re-structuring into independent corporations will take effect on January 1 next year, but already as of October 1, 2000 the re-structuring will be carried out in practice.
We have implemented the new structure to enhance focus on customer requirements. The companies have to be highly aggressive with intense focus on customers. We expect them to respond to customer requirements quicker, increase productivity and achieve higher growth levels, states President and CEO Henning Dyremose.
The re-structuring comes after an in-depth review of the challenges Tele Danmark will be facing in the years to come. The outcome has been based on our expectations as to customer requirements.
