Tektronix Inc is moving its computer-aided engineering operations in California and Texas back home to Oregon, taking a $3.1m charge for the costs (see Company Results); the company also says that its West German subsidiary loaned money to a leasing company, Rhein Neckar AG, without its knowledge, and that Rhein Neckar has since gone bankrupt: the loan may have been fraudulent and it has fired the employees involved; it has had to take a $3.8m charge with its first quarter figures against the possible loss.
