The tablet is available for preorder and will be delivered in January 2015.

Dell, Microsoft, Intel and API Technologies through its subsidiary SST have launched Secure Venue Tablet, which is specially designed for the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) countries. The tablet has improved security features and claimed to combine the portability of a tablet and the power of a laptop.

The tablet has been developed based on Dell Venue 11 Pro Tablet and features i5 Processor (4th generation).

It will run on Windows 8.1 Pro operating system and is supported by Dell’s global ProSupport which will provide technical help from OEM technical support engineers.

The data encryption technology for the tablet was developed jointly by Dell, SST, and ViaSat, and in coordination with technology partners Microsoft and Intel.

In order to provide an additional level of security, the tablet features ViaSat Eclypt drive which is qualified to hold secret data by both the CESG of Britain’s GCHQ and the Government of Canada.

The tablet will also include 11 integrated smart card reader or finger print readers and a TPM 1.2 chip and Noble lock slot to prevent physical theft of the tablet.

Dell OEM Solutions EMEA general manager Dermot O’Connell said: "Working in a secure environment is a key priority nowadays when users need to trust their mobile devices to be secure and reliable.
