Tech City recruitment fair Silicon Milkroundabout is considering expanding into Cambridge, Berlin and Tel Aviv, it has been revealed.
The startup’s co-founder Pete Smith told CBR the firm is looking to grow outside of Shoreditch, looking at Cambridge, Berlin and Tel Aviv as the next-strongest tech scenes.
The recruitment business released research last week which showed UK demand for software developers had grown 31% on last year and marketing staff by 78%, suggesting the startup scene is maturing as companies begin to take products to market.
Talking about the company’s own plans, Smith said it hopes to target other thriving startup hubs.
"We’re looking to grow and expand," he said. "Cambridge and Berlin could be next steps but those are plans we will look at next year.
"London is the top hub in Europe but Tel Aviv is a pretty exciting place and close on both those cities’ heels are Cambridge and Berlin.
"Those are natural next steps for us but we will also be looking at Tel Aviv."
He added that the company, formed by members of startup Songkick, which tracks upcoming gigs around the world, is not expected to need investor cash to fund the expansion.
