Blackburn, Lancashire-based printed circuit board manufacturer TDS Circuits Plc continues to reduce its losses but is still a way away from returning to profitability. Pre-tax losses for the year to February 28 amounted to UKP921,000, down from UKP2.1m, on turnover that slipped 3% to UKP6m. Order intake is described as having been strong, especially in the second half, although UK price wars are still putting considerable pressure on the company’s profit margins. TDS continues to internationalise its business and has succeeded in raising export reveues to UKP2.8m from just over UKP2m in 1991 and UKP1.4m in 1990. The company says it looks for a market recovery during the current financial year.
