TDS CIRCUITS MANAGES TO REDUCE ITS LOSSES DESPITE LOUSY BUSINESS

By CBR Staff Writer

Blackburn, Lancashire-based TDS Circuits Ltd, the printed circuit board manufacturer, has further reduced its losses, recording a pre-tax loss of UKP595,000, down from UKP1.2m a year ago, for the year to August 31, on turnover that fell 14.2% to UKP2.9m. TDS is 71% owned by Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA’s subsidiary Teknecomp. TDS finance director, Mr Partridge, expressed satisfaction with the results given the continuing deterioration in the market. He said that this had led to a fall in prices for the company’s boards as competition intensified. The company is committed to the continuing increase in efficiency in its two factories near Blackburn.
