Tata Consultancy Services has reported revenues of INR93.57bn ($2.1bn) in the second quarter of 2010, up 26% compared to INR74.27bn ($1.6bn) in the same period last year.
For the second quarter ended 30 September 2010, revenues from IT and consultancy services were INR88.99bn, compared to INR71.99bn for the same period last year.
Revenues from sale of equipment and software licenses were INR3.87bn, compared to INR2.36bn while revenues from other income in the second quarter of 2010 was INR70m.
The company posted a net profit of INR21.69bn, up 32% compared to INR16.42bn in the same period a year ago.
TCS managing director and CEO N Chandrasekaran said it has been a quarter of superior performance across the board, driven by volume growth of over 11%.
"Given the growth we have achieved across all industry units, we are positive about the global demand recovery going forward while being watchful in view of the macro environment," Chandrasekaran said.
