South Korean conglomerate Hyundai Electronics Co Inc’s Axil Workstations Inc is already out of the Internet gate, and now Taiwanese company Tatung Co’s Sparcsystems builder Tatung Science & Technology Inc is following suit with World Wide Web server versions of its recently-introduced UltraSparc workstations (CI No 2,833). The U140-i, which costs from $16,000, compared with the $15,450 for the U140, and the U170-i, at from $18,750, compared with the $18,000 U170, come pre-installed with SunSoft Inc’s Solaris 2.5 and Internet Gateway Software 1.0 and Netscape Communications Corp FastTrack Server, according to the Milpitas, California company. Other Netscape and firewall software packages are optional.
