TAO SYSTEMS LANDS FUNDING FOR GAMES JOINT VENTURE

Tao Systems Ltd, the Hampstead, London-based developer of the Taos, parallel operating system, says it has picked up undisclosed funding from a British Virgin Islands-based venture capital outfit, Einstein Holdings Ltd: the money is being used to form a new company, Galconda Games Ltd, which will initially develop virtual-reality type games for sale to amusement arcades – the three-man development team is likely to be using SGS-Thomson Microelectronics NV’s Transputer-based scheduled for release next summer: the size of the investment was not disclosed, but is thought to anount to hundreds of thousands of pounds.
