TANDY/’S NEW 5000MC COVERED BY LICENCE AGREEMENTS WITH IBM

By CBR Staff Writer

Why anyone should want to clone the IBM PS/2 at this stage is something of a mystery, but Tandy says that at present its new 5000MC is covered by patent cross-licence agreements with IBM; IBM points out that these agreements will not cover patents still to be granted on aspects of the PS/2, and it will want royalties on those in due course; separately, InterTan UK Ltd says it has not yet set prices or delivery dates for the new 80386-based box.
