Seems that chatter about an 80386 machine and a cheapo laser printer on the way from Tandy Corp ain’t true… or maybe it is: according to Microbytes Daily, chief executive John Roach told a meeting last week that the stories were conjectures that had been misinterpreted as news – but he did mention that Tandy would announce a number of new products on August 3, the tenth anniversary of the TRS-80 Model I, Tandy’s first computer; Roach also mentioned a low-cost home-oriented system that the company is working on for later; according to Roach it will be very sophisticated, will be very cheap, very useful, and be so simple to use that my wife could use it without reading the manual.
